Emily Bowland, Principal Clarinet

 

Emily Wasson Bowland holds the positions of Principal Clarinet in Orchestra Kentucky and Bass Clarinet in the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with the Nashville Symphony, Nashville Opera Orchestra, Huntsville Symphony, and Evansville Philharmonic.

As a recording musician, Emily can be heard on projects ranging from Jack White's debut solo album Blunderbuss and The Lone Ranger(2013) soundtrack to jingles and music publishing libraries.

As a chamber musician, Emily is a member of chatterbird, an alternative music collective performing uniquely orchestrated chamber works. She is also a member of the woodwind quintet, Music City Winds.

Emily earned degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the University of Southern California, studying with Yehuda Gilad, Mitchell Lurie, and Richie Hawley. She lives in Nashville with her husband Jimmy, and son Parker.
